In 2001 Amnon was awarded a Doctorate from the Department of Computer Science, Tel Aviv University, supervised by Prof Amiram Yehudai, Prof Joseph (Yossi) Gil, and Prof Yoram Hirshfeld. His PhD dissertation, Precise Specification of Design Patterns and Tool Support in their Application, which introduced LePUS (a visual modelling language for design patterns), cited over 100 times by 2016.

    Master of Science (Cum Laude)

In 1994 Amnon was awarded a Master in Computer Science (Cum Laude) from the Department of Computer Science, Tel Aviv University for his thesis titled Supervised Learning of Natural Concepts, which combined research in machine learning (artificial intelligence), philosophy of mind, and cognitive psychology, supervised by Prof. Arnon Avron.

    Interdisciplinary Program for Outstanding Students

Between 1989 and 1994 Amnon was a student in Tel Aviv University’s Interdisciplinary Program for Outstanding Students (subsequently named after Adi Lautman). Amnon’s undergraduate studies focused on computer science and mathematics. His graduate studies also included artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and philosophy.
